We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful location and beautiful surroundings at Ao Prao Resort. The food was excellent and the accommodation was comfortable. The friendly staff made sure our island transfers were organized smoothly.

One very specific situation from the database: On our arrival at the resort, we experienced a poor start as the staff member who greeted us ignored us as a couple and paid more attention to another couple. We felt unwelcome and confused about whether we should follow them or not.

Staff were very attentive and efficient at any hour!!

Everything was very good, stunning location not far from a stunning view over the Bay, and a dreamy bay surrounded by mountains and jungle, very lovely experience. We booked a double room, it was magnificent and decent size.

Our room which was a couple of stairs up but worth the pain for the fantastic sea views from our window. The infinity pool area is nice but small in size but you have a very nice sea view and excellent beach accessibility.

The service is not the strongest point of this hotel and we struggled to get the taxi service arranged to get around the island. The restaurant prices are also quite high and the food quality does not stand up if you order alla carte.

I really appreciated the service and kindness of the staff, not to mention the spectacular location, impeccable and very spacious rooms

Convenient location near pier, seamless transportation to the hotel with friendly staff. Secluded and quiet off-season, providing lots of privacy. Enjoyed Thai massage with hot compress as daily special. Impressed with insect-free experience. Comfortable room with nice lounge chairs.

Location is fantastic in quiet Ao Prao beach. Rooms are comfortable and quiet in the middle of gardens.

The hotel is nice and the views are beatiful and with only 3 hotels on this side of the island its very quiet and relaxing. The free speed boat transfer from the mainland was also a major plus having travelled on slow dingey ferries in thailand to other islands. Good sunset views.

So the beach is almost private with only 3 resorts but the sand is not as nice as the main beach on the other side of the island. The water is also not very clean as it faces the mainland and by all accounts rubbish is dumped from there into the sea so its far nicer to swim on the other side of the island. The price of the food in the restaurant is way too high in fact we didnt eat there once however the other resorts on that side have more reasonable options and the food was good. Taxis to the main beach will set you back 200 baht each way so bare this in mind although we still thought it was worth it for the atmosphere and reduced food/drink prices elsewhere. We would recommend hiring a quad bike for the day as this will save on the cost of going to the other side and back and exploring the island was very rewarding. All in all unless you want a quiet romantic retreat with not much going on I would strongly recommend staying on the east coast main beach and maybe just come over to the west for a day or 2 for the sunsets and the quiet beach.

We liked the deluxe cottage which was beautifully decorated and absolutely perfect with excellent bathroom. A coffee maker and fridges were nice. The location was absolutely perfect and exceptionally nice and walk from a boat dock. Ate at Food & Drinks, it's just a short stroll away from the venue.

I had such a wonderful time at this hotel! The location is absolutely breathtaking, with a perfect white sandy beach on a secluded corner of the island. It felt like a private paradise, as only residents were using the private beach in the idyllic bay. The service here was top-notch, with room service and a helpful bell staff ready to assist me. The room itself was beautifully appointed, with a balcony that offered stunning views of the ocean. I also loved the fact that there was a terrace where I could sit and enjoy the gentle sea breeze. the amenities in the room were excellent, from the air conditioning to the mini-bar and in-room safe. I felt truly pampered during my stay!

This place is perfect for families looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

Very tranquil, Rooms hardly visible from the sea, most of them situated as luxury jungle style cabins, i would regard the room i had as 4 star. You can order a speedboad transfer from the BanPhe Seree pier to the hotel beach (and vice versa) at the hotel reception (depart three times a day, order in advance). Staff was very friendly and helpfull (5 star service). Internet was available at the reception area (free).

Just a pitty they opted for plastic sun lounges on the beach. The island of Koh Samet itself is more a backpacker place but you won't notice this from the resort.

Close to the city and in a secluded private area on Koh Samet.
